Why does my z axis make a grinding noise?
Just got to the auto homing step and electronics look good but when I auto home it started making some straining/grinding noises when it was raising the bed. I noticed when I move z-axis manually from the LCD usually only the left side coupler will turn and the bed starts to go crooked, then the right side will turn a bit and level out some.
When do I move the z axis from the LCD?
I noticed when I move z-axis manually from the LCD usually only the left side coupler will turn and the bed starts to go crooked, then the right side will turn a bit and level out some. Should I go back to reinstalling the whole bed or is there a quick adjustment to be made here?
Why does my stepper make a grinding noise?
All I can think of is that it is the split cable that came with the kit, one side works and one side just causes the stepper to vibrate or move with what sounds like a grinding sound, but moves very little. when the motors are disconnected they both move with equal force and smoothly, and that goes for the second set I tried also.
What kind of grease to use on z axis?
Grease is an absolute must ! Not only on the threaded parts but also on the smooth rods where it will be sucked inside. Also mentioned in various posts is once things are working it is good to run the bed fully up and down ten or twenty times to run the bearings in.
What should I do if my z axis is slow?
If the axis is slow then speed it up in the firmware. Too fast and the motors will stall and scream at you. Also keep the acceleration down on the Z axis so it doesnt mess up. Have you calibrated your Z axis yet?
Can a nut turn a circle move 8mm?
These are the ones.It says there: Nut turn a circle move 8mm. But not this is what matter for me. What matter is that I see them moving like a turtle when i want to raise or descend Z axis from LCD or by Host. So, let me explain to you guys how I solved the first problem.
What should the speed of the z axis be?
E default values are good for Skeinforge 40+, for older versions raise them a lot. Now when I hit autohome is moving much faster. But this happend only when I do autohome. When I move axes from repetier or from LCD the speed of the Z axis is still slow.
